Talking therapy for adults
Psychodynamic Therapy
Feeling pre-occupied, stuck or frustrated? Overwhelmed, misunderstood or alone? I offer a supportive, confidential, and non-judgemental space in which to explore thoughts and feelings at times of difficulty or transition.

Whether you are facing a current specific difficulty or seeking an understanding of something deeper in your life, I can help you to reflect on and make sense of your experience. Being heard in this way allows for a greater sense of self to develop, as well as improving feelings of well-being, and facilitating meaningful change.
My Approach
My approach is psychodynamic and relational. This gives importance to thinking about the way present-day emotions, behaviour, and reactions to events are shaped and influenced by early relationships and past experiences. By exploring the thoughts and feelings we have in past and present relationships (some of which may be unconscious), patterns emerge and connections can be made which lead to a clearer understanding of and acceptance of self, and greater emotional resilience.

Therapy does not provide a quick fix - it is through a gradual and thoughtful process of making sense of your inner world that new potential and possibilities can emerge. I will listen to you very carefully and provide a consistent, attuned, and collaborative space in which you can think, feel, and grow.

About me
I originally trained as a nurse and for more than 20 years I have lived and worked in the UK and France.
My nursing background and experience continue to inform my understanding of health and wellbeing as a uniquely personal and subjective experience. I have a special interest in women's health and womens' experiences of themselves across the life cycle. I have also worked within services dedicated to the care of the older person, with students, and with refugee support groups.

I hold a Master's degree in Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck College, University of London, and I have counselling experience within NHS talking therapy services, bereavement services, and low cost community counselling settings.
What to expect
Therapy sessions with me are held weekly at the same reserved time and last 50 minutes. I do understand that life can be complicated and I will always try to offer an alternative time where possible. I currently offer online therapy only.

We can work together on a specific issue for a set period of time or engage in more open-ended exploration.

My standard fee is £60 or 70€ per session - I can make adjustments according to individual financial circumstances.

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and adhere fully to their ethical guidelines and standards for clinical practice.

Getting started
I know that taking a first step in the process can feel daunting. I offer a free introductory conversation to explore what brings you to therapy and is an opportunity to ask questions, get a sense of how I work, and if we might work well together.
